Hi there

It seems that a lot has moved on since I did my post on the importance of Outsourcing, not least in my own time trying to bring a project up to speed

I had set out to do something which I had thought would take 15-20 minutes maximum to complete, by the time I had a series of e mails backwards and forwards with my hosting company it turned into an afternoon and the start of the following morning before I was actually done

It’s also important to know that my hosting company are super helpful, certainly not the take the money and run types that sadly exist out there, so what did I and ultimately you need to learn from this experience?

Now don’t get me wrong here I didn’t just dwell on this one thing during all this time but it gnawed away at me, frustrated the hell out of me and saps your energy instead of moving seamlessly onwards

Well I think it’s simple, to make our Online businesses work properly we need to keep a clear focus on what matters, in short is what I’m doing getting me to my goals, be that making money from or completing what I am doing, in honesty we all know the two are linked together

You need to be the project manager not the technician as Michael Gerber would put it working in your business not working on your business and to that end I have produced a short report to get you thinking differently

It’s no accident that the top 3% of Internet Marketers are so much more successful, their thinking is clear, project driven, results driven, it won’t have escaped your attention that many of these people put out one product after another in the time it takes you to get something ¼ finished

So what’s going on here, how can they keep doing what you can’t begin to comprehend? put simply they outsource everything but but the relationship side of their operations, it keeps their minds on the task in hand not on the massive frustration that I described at the start of this post

Maybe it’s time you downloaded my report The Outsource Myth www.theoutsourcemyth.com It gives you the clear strategies to fix your thinking, it will allow you to tap into the best outsourcers and critically tells you how to develop the relationships that makes it work in the longer term

Why is that important? well sadly the MLM brigade have abused the good nature of some of the outsource community by tricking them into MLM programs instead of offering them genuine opportunities that were of a Win Win nature

We all know that anybody who behaves like that can only do it once but it makes our task that bit more difficult, so take the lessons from the report, build those relationships and critically the trust that goes with it, simple I guess, if you want somebody’s respect you need to earn it first

I suspect that this will be a work in progress for me and as I come across more I will re launch the report in a more comprehensive fashion, in the mean time I will keep you up to date with complimentary information that broadens the topic

I would love to get your comments on your experiences in outsourcing, leave me a reply and let me know what you think?

Hi There

As this morning unfolds it reminds me of a very important lesson for us all, the weather in the United Kingdom has suddenly gone rather wet and grey and this morning it is also quite windy

This played on my mind before I went out for my early morning bike ride but I heard that voice in my head saying get out there, yes the wind makes it a bit tougher but as my friend Dave Padwick always used to say, pain is the bodies way of showing weakness, by 7.30am ride completed I was back indoors feeling great

So how does this relate to my journey here, well I think it’s simple, I spent yesterday putting a new project together, in truth I got a bit sidetracked mid afternoon, by 5.00pm I was back at my desk and clicked on a message from Lee McIntyre talking about how long his first online Membership site took to complete and it spurred me back into action

I spent a couple more hours last night completing the details and this morning I tied up the last loose ends and fired it all off to my outsource people, by the early part of next week the project will be complete and my mind is then clear to go onto the next important project, it’s taken a while but you know I really do get this now

By the end of next week I expect to have three more important projects completed and the process will be the same with all of them, it is the night and day difference that anybody new to Marketing Online must get and must do with a very big capital DO!

Speaking and listening to those people who have really made it the message comes across loud and clear, get it done, then get it right, things always evolve but it’s not until you actually have it out there that the other things you didn’t anticipate come to light, version 2 answers these and your customers issues all in one go

Which brings us back to the importance of Outsourcing, of letting go, of being a Project Manager, you control it, you call the shots but critically your time is now free the get on with other more important things, so stop surfing the net until you have finished what you are doing, 95% of those e mails just want to turn you back into a prospect anyway!

I’ve touched on the fact that I set out to answer peoples Outsourcing issues in an earlier post, for those of you struggling with poor or slow Outsourcers, just remind them that you have a number of projects in the pipeline, set out your requirements and your timescales and ask them politely but firmly can you deliver this to me time after time, no ifs no buts, because if they can’t they will stress you out and hold you back, for your sake don’t let this happen

Lastly if you don’t already have one make sure that get yourself a good Mentor and a Mastermind support group to work with, your Mentor will open your mind to possibilities that you had only dreamed of, he or she will know many influential people that you would struggle to get in front of yourself and this will be priceless

It will also make you take a long hard look at yourself, in most fields of life, those who rise to the top, the very people we admire most work with their Mentors, because they all realise that to stay at the top, to keep abreast of the latest trends they need that second pair of eyes more experienced than their’s, Michael Gerber put it so well, the problem with the boss is that the boss doesn’t have one

Your Mastermind support group will answer your questions, many will gladly help you, believe me they all remember being where you are now, suddenly you will have hundreds of eyes offering a helping hand, quickly you will find yourself helping people back and in the end we all now that if we want something we have to ask what do I need to give first in order to get something back

So as I wrap this up on a grey morning I am feeling energized and the message is simple, get it done first, get it out there and then get version 2 out there a little while later, I rewrote my Outsourcing report, three weeks after I finished it, adding more resources and more supporting information, in the meantime it was out there not on my hard drive

So until next time

Hi There

Wow, what a week, my feet don’t seem to touch the ground these days and last night was the icing on the cake as the bigger picture really started to come together

The sunshine is back and all is good with the world

Those of you following will know that I am being mentored by Alex Jefferies and that I believe he over delivers on a regular basis, well last night we had a 60 minute product creation call and the lights really came on for me

He explained the process from the mindset of somebody who does this really well, explained exactly how to put it all together and how it builds your credibility in the market at the same time as creating an income stream for both you and your affiliates

Is there a downside? well in honesty yes, in that I struggled to get to sleep last night because I was so fired up as I can now see where all the hard work is going and exactly what to do next

The weekend was great as well, Sunday saw Jorge Lorenzo romp away with the Moto GP and all the usual silliness afterwards with the dressing up in costumes, it’s great to see that the Yamaha guys still understand the word fun in an all to serious world

On Saturday I went to London to the Smart Marketing Warriors Internet Marketing Meeting, this is the second one of these I’ve been to and again it was really good

Roger Bourdon who has many successful Online Businesses talked us through his take on Product Creation, his insights were invaluable on sourcing many of the component parts of putting a successful campaign together, I think I speak for everybody there in saying a big thanks for his coming and talking to us

Roger also reminded us of a really important issue that it’s so easy to forget and that is just because people could find some of the component parts of your product that what they are paying for is your knowledge and your time in delivering true value to your customer

Laurie Dalton then spoke to us about using various forms of resale rights, talking through both the pros and cons of PLR and Master Resale Rights and the various other banners they come under

The afternoon saw last months Hot Seat people talk through their progress Dr Dawn Hamilton had got her Blog up, had added a number of features to it and had then customized her Twitter page to follow the theme of her Blog

She got a bit of a tough ride last month but this month it was all praise and rightly so and she acknowledged the push that Sian gave her was needed

Brian talked through his progress on his Overcoming Low Self Esteem site, he had made considerable progress but that there was still more to be done

One of the group pointed out that his Traffic Stats weren’t telling him the whole story and how to put that right so again a positive move forward

So onto my Hot Seat, I think the word verbal kicking comes to mind but if we are going to be precious we are also going nowhere either here or anywhere else in our lives for that matter

In the end the group exists to answer the needs of it’s members and those needs are not met by telling you what you want to hear they are served by getting you on track with what you need to do

So not back to the drawing board but time to reflect and an opportunity to get some valuable feedback from the room, also an opportunity to talk through some of my ideas on progress

If your in the London or surrounding districts you really should think of joining up with this group, there’s a lot of experience in the room to draw from, go to www.meetup.com/Smart-Marketing-Warriors/
and let Bruce know your coming

Until next time

Hi There

Another week seems to have slipped by with a whole load of things going on so where to start and why the headline?

Well it’s simply this, we all start out in this business constantly chasing information, then along come the Online Marketing people and we all start chasing the shiny objects and the supporting BS!

Hopefully we then get to the next stage which is total focus, working with our Mastermind Group or Groups and building that very clear idea of where we are going and what we need to achieve

As I write this on a sun drenched Monday morning in the UK there are the obvious distractions outside but there are other distractions I had not considered up until this point

Having through a process of trial and error found some really good Outsource partners I have now ramped up my workload considerably, in simple terms I now complete 5 to 6 projects in the time it previously took me to complete one which is of course great

However during the course of writing the post I am receiving e mails asking for clarifications on specifications, requesting to know what keywords to use on the next project which I am entering into, so another avenue of time opens up

So instead of chasing shiny objects I am now chasing up my Outsource partners, it’s another learning process, I have to say an enjoyable one but none the less total clarity at the front end will help resolve some of this

It’s strange in terms of learning I had been a little dismissive of Article Marketing until I realised where a lot of the Traffic was coming from for one of my Reports, boy had I got that wrong

So I have a new Article writer whose style I really like, the passion just leaps off the page and the response time is really quick and again my time is now free to shape the project not to work in the project

Away from work it’s been a great Weekend of Motorsport with Jorge Lorenzo winning the Moto GP in Assen and extending his lead in the Championship, the only downside being it clashed with the Qualifying for the European Grand Prix

The race sadly was made a nonsense of by the Safety Car after Mark Webber somersaulted over the Lotus of Heikki Kovelinen, amazingly he was just a bit sore and not the least put of by what had happened

That said Sebastian Vettel was a deserving winner with a Pole position to Chequered flag victory, the Red Bull team are based in Milton Keynes some ten minutes from where I live and I had the opportunity to meet a number of the technicians and their passion and pride shines through and the results stand for themselves

And so to our England Football team, hmmm! sadly we move from a sport where a lot of money brings totally focused teams of passionate dedicated people trying to find fractions to have the edge and then doing it all again before the next race to something very different indeed

In the UK Football or Soccer as it is known in the States things sadly are very polarised, the very top of the Pyramid is run by a number of very wealthy individuals, some as little more than playthings together with similarly wealthy companies

Below that a lot of the Clubs really struggle because a president has been set in terms of the Salaries the very top players command, now don’t get me wrong, I as much a Capitalist as the next Guy or Girl but you can’t have massive reward for mediocre return and that is my take on the game in our Country

So as the Team fly home what will happen? well there will be calls to sack the manager, the Tabloid press will have another of it’s anti German sessions forgetting that the War ended 65 years ago and that most of us admire the way the modern Germany does things and that many of us have German friends

The saddest part is there will be a lot of looking back to 1966 instead of looking forward to being world class, sadly I don’t think British Football is yet ready to buckle down with the discipline needed to make it happen

Until next time
